Read Tina's blog post about her family's trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Write T (right), F (wrong) or NI (doesn't say).
I learned about natural wonders in school today, and luckily, I had the chance to visit one of these wonders last summer - the Great Barrier Reef.
The Great Barrier Reef is located off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It is home to the world's largest coral system, which spans over 2,300 kilometres. These amazing coral formations can be seen both above and below the sea. Because a helicopter tour was too expensive for us, we took a boat tour to take in the breathtaking views. The scenery was so stunning, and we couldn't resist taking countless photos.
During our visit, we had the chance to explore this fascinating natural wonder by taking part in a variety of activities, including snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming, and water rafting. It was interesting to learn that corals are not plants but rather animals! The Great Barrier Reef is an enchanting world full of over 1,500 species of fish and 400 species of corals, each with a stunning array of colours, shapes, and sizes. With its bright sun, golden beaches, and thriving coral reef ecosystems, this extraordinary place is one of the most beautiful destinations for visitors. Our trip was fantastic and left us with priceless memories; I can't stop telling my friends about it. If you ever get the chance to visit, remember to bring your aquatic gear so you can participate in water-based activities.
